(8/26/25) If you think your house was expensive, you may reconsider that after reading the results of a new report from Realtor.com that identified and ranked American’s most-expensive zip codes.
Realtor.com examined zip codes with at least 30 active listings and found the 10 most expensive codes in the nation in July based on the median listing price in each one. The top zip code: Miami Beach’s Fisher Island (33109), where the median listing price
was $11.925 million – more than 27 times the U.S. median listing price of $1.3 million. Every home listed for sale in that zip code in July was priced above $1 million.
Seven of the top 10 zip codes were in California, with the Newport Coast-Newport Beach metro (92657) ranked second, with a median listing price of $9.099 million. Rounding out the top 10 zips on the list were Bridgehampton, NY (11932), Bel Air-Los Angeles, Calif. (90077), Montecito-Santa Barbara, Calif. (93108), Hope Ranch-Santa Barbara, Calif. (93110), Beverly Hills, Calif. (90210), Water Mill, NY (11976), Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. (92067) and Malibu, Calif. (90265).
“While these zip codes make up only a sliver of the U.S. housing market, they show where the wealthiest buyers, and their dollars, are concentrated,” said Anthony Smith, senior economist for Realtor.com. “They are the markets that capture the attention of the wealthiest buyers, concentrate extraordinary amounts of capital and define what ultra-luxury living means in America today.”
