(10/23/25)  Who doesn’t love Halloween? The costumes, the candy, the kids?

But, for some people, Halloween goes way beyond trick-or-treat – it’s a way of life. And those folks will be happy to know that there are towns where you can live Halloween 365 days a year, not just for one night.

Zillow recently identified 13 “boo-tiful” towns where residents can embrace Halloween year-round, in communities with rich histories, plenty of charm and, perhaps, a little bit of spookiness.

From cobblestone streets to hillside ghost towns, each of the towns below offers more than just a good scare. They are also great places to live. Decide for yourself – the top five towns on Zillow’s list are below, each with the typical home value and rent.

Salem, Mass.

Typical home value:  $607,354 | Typical monthly rent: $2,655

Of course, Salem had to top the list! The town embraces its witchy past with a monthly “Haunted Happenings” festival every October, but it also boasts historic architecture, thriving shops and easy access to Boston.

Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.

Typical home value: $975,045 | Typical monthly rent: $4,215

Situated on the Hudson River just north of Manhattan, Sleepy Hollow blends suburban living with legendary lore. In addition to scenic trails and historic homes, the town features an iconic Halloween celebration, with lantern-lit cemetery tours and, of course, the Headless Horseman.

Anoka, Minnesota

Typical home value: $325,314 | Typical monthly rent: N/A

Known as the "Halloween Capital of the World," Anoka has hosted parades and festivities since 1920. It's also a family-friendly town with affordable homes and a warm Midwestern vibe.

New Orleans, La.

Typical home value: $238,620 | Typical monthly rent: $1,623

Known as "America's Most Haunted City," New Orleans has ghostly legends around every corner. Residents also enjoy the iconic architecture, world-class food and a lively cultural scene. Don’t miss the ghost and cemetery tours!

St. Helens, Ore.

Typical home value: $426,176 | Typical monthly rent: $1,895

A charming riverside town, St. Helens was also the site where Disney’s movie, Halloweentown, was filmed.  The town holds a month-long festival every October, with haunted tours, costume contests and celebrity appearances.
